In the Daydreamers Photography Online class, students will learn the basics of composition and framing, be exposed to different styles of photography, and take hundreds of focused photos! You will receive one-on-one mentorship and guidance with a real photographer through weekly 45-minute zoom meeting calls. Using these new techniques and styles, you will create multiple photo essays that highlight all you have learned!

Class 1:
Students will be introduced to the basis of all great photography; framing! We will review the rule of thirds and leading lines, learning how artists use these concepts to draw the viewer’s eye!

Class 2:
Students dive deeper into other framing techniques: filling the frame and negative space. They will use their environment to demonstrate their understanding of these concepts. Students are assigned to create a mini photo essay based on these framing techniques!

Class 3:
Students and instructor review photo-essay. The instructor gives notes, critiques, and guidance.

Class 4:
We introduce students to style and how different styles of photography tell different stories. We study famous photographers and study and analyze their styles.

Class 5:
Students are shown different types of photography, from architectural and documentary, to fashion and portrait. Students choose a style of photography to make their second photo essay out of.

Class 6:
Students and instructor review photo-essay. The instructor gives notes, critiques, and guidance.

Class 7:
Instructor and students deep dive into what makes an intriguing and interesting photo essay. By exploring their own interests and what makes them unique and creating a plan of action, students will be ready to execute and show photos the following week.

Class 8:
Students and instructor review photo-essay. The instructor gives notes, critiques, and guidance. The student will choose 10-15 best pictures to create a collage print with. The instructor will send the print to the student!
Students have the option of choosing to meet once or twice a week, whatever fits their schedule. The course consists of eight classes in total. Classes are always open for registration, and you choose when you begin!
Once a student signs up, we will create a private Dropbox folder for them, which we will send to you on the first day of class. The Dropbox folder is where all the course lessons are, which include videos, worksheets, and instructions!

This is also where the student will be turning in their worksheets and photos.

We will be conducting one-on-one video call meetings for forty-five minutes with every student. Once you register, you will then be able to set up meeting times on our calendar.

The video calls will be conducted through the Zoom app, which is free and easy to use. Zoom's website has tutorials on how to use their app. Sign up for Zoom here: https://zoom.us/ent?zcid=3172
